Blackbird offers sustainable living curriculum for students young and old.. Immersive instruction in bread making, fruit preserving and cheese making helps students connect the dots to see where their food begins and how it ends up on their plate
Cheese Making
Students and guests are able to learn how easy it is to make your own cheese. Using fresh herbs from our garden guests can choose how they want to season their cheese and make it taste delicious.
Jam Making
Using fruits from our own orchard and garden students and guests learn the proper preserving techniques needed to ensure high quality jam. The sweet smell of fruit won’t just linger here at the farm, guests are able to take their jam home to share.
Bread Making
Let us show you the art of making homemade bread and biscuits. Our state of the art stone oven gives our bread great texture, taste, and all the wholesome goodness you could imagine.
Pizza Making
Our highly trained staff is ready to teach our students and guests the proper pizza making skills. Make your own personal pizza and watch it rise to perfection within in a few short minutes inside our stone oven.
Foodology U
This class is constantly changing with the seasons and with what our garden is producing at the time. Guests have the opportunity to create seasonal salsa, tour the garden, have an interactive lesson in mending a bend, building a compost, or learning how to harvest. This is our most flexible class that way guests can pick and choose what they want to learn in our garden.
