I have been to Blackbird Farm numerous times and with each visit I discover something new to love about its location and beauty. The staff is extremely welcoming and the food is fantastic. Blackbird Farm was a wonderful getaway! I really enjoyed learning about companion planting and composting from the garden staff, and making jam was fun and delicious. I loved sitting down to home cooked meals with variety and healthy fresh ingredients. Hiking across the beautiful grounds and around the property was serene and calming. Pastoral scenery with horses grazing, glimpses of deer, and wonderful greenery everywhere created a peaceful environment and the farm house and accommodations were very comfortable and homey. – Marissa, Los Angeles
Walking around Blackbird Farm is a sensory wonder! The sight of treetops touching the skies, sometimes with fog rolling in and hugging the hills. Beautiful gentle horses graze the same areas you can often spot deer in as well. The sounds of the wind rustling the grass, the small brook flowing, and birds calling each other is so calming and relaxing. The smell of damp earth and fresh herbs in the garden, wildflowers blossoming, and fresh coffee as you head into the farmhouse. When you sit down with your cup to a delicious home cooked breakfast you really feel ready to take on any of the wonderful activities available – hiking, horseback riding, or even just reading a book by the fire. – Perry, Los Angeles
In the summer of 2013, I got the opportunity to visit Blackbird Farm. I was able to participate in teambuilding, helping establish the organic garden and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the 250 acre farm. The farm is nestled amongst the majestic Redwoods, right in the heart of Philo California. I will never forget leaping off of the farm’s high ropes course, suspended in those ancient trees. If it wasn’t for the helpful high ropes staff team that encouraged me to take a “leap of faith”, I would still be on the ground, wondering if I was courageous…now because of those supportive people I know how powerful I really am. – Sarah, Burbank
